We loved it to pieces. Awlward puberty and all. And the fact they couldn't discuss "it" hit home - my mom was so like that. The film transcended race and culture. And it was so utterly cool to see the film set in Toronto. It was so Canadian - we don't see that often and celebrate each time. We so often see Canadian cities and settings masquerading as other places. Great to have the film work, but even better to be recognized. Thanks for this thoughful piece.
