The Hound of the Baskervilles is probably my fav. And yes, I have seen (and loved) the Basil Rathbone/Richard Greene version 😃). Long-time fan of Holmes and Watson in their many incarnations. Christopher and James Mason in Murder by Decree were a joy — particularly James Mason. And Robert Downy Jr.’s pairing with Jude Law was wonderful, though they played the he’s the smart one/he’s the dumb one cards the other way.
For balance, I must admit a greater fondness for Mark Gatiss’ take on the duo — his series really does justice to Watson as his own man.
