There are ten chapters — ten short stories in the “Stumbling Towards Gilead” series. Each new story takes us deeper into a dark and frightening future.
Right now Gilead doesn’t exist. We are only stumbling towards it.
But with each new outrage, each new call for violence against blacks, women, and gay people of all flavors and colors, I fear we are fast approaching the edge of the precipice.
My fervent hope remains that we will catch ourselves. Return to sanity. Reach out with love, compassion and inclusion. Before we fall the rest of the way into this worst version of our world.
